TO OUR MEMBERS:

COVID-19 HAS IMPEDED MANY BUSINESSES & ORGANIZATIONS FROM FUNCTIONING OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS.  HOWEVER, BEING A SMALL GROUP, WE HAVE KEPT THE CLUB OPEN AND LIMITED OCCUPANCY TO NO MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE AT THE FACILITY AT ONE TIME.  THE GATE REMAINS CLOSED WHILE MEMBERS ARE FLYING AS TO NOT INVITE EXCEEDING OCCUPANCY AT THE FIELD. PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE A FACE COVERING OR MASK READILY AVAILABLE IN CASE OF ANOTHER ARRIVING MEMBER.

IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER AND INTERESTED IN BECOMING A MEMBER, PLEASE GO TO THE "CONTACT US" SECTION OF THE SITE AND WE WOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE YOU FOR A SCHEDULED VISIT!

UPCOMING EVENTS - FOR DETAILS VISIT OUR "EVENTS" IN THE MENU

DUE TO COVID-19, MANY EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED, RESCHEDULED OR SCHEDULED THROUGH TECHNOLOGICAL MEANS. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO OUR WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE FOR UPDATES AS THE STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS START "PHASING" THE OPENING OF BUSINESSES, OFFICES AND EVENTS.

JOIN US FOR THE 2020 FATHER'S DAY FUN FLY (Sunday, June 21st, 2020 10am-4pm) (NO RAIN DATE)!

YES! WE ARE APPROVED FOR THE EVENT THROUGH THE TOWN OF MONTAGUE AS OF JUNE 1ST, 2020. THOUGH IT WON'T BE OUR "NORMAL" SHOW, WE HOPE TO HAVE A FANTASTIC AFTERNOON OF FLYING WITH OUR FRIENDS AND ASK THAT EVERYONE RESPECT THE CDC AND MASS STATE GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTABLE DISTANCING AND PRECAUTIONS.  THERE WILL BE NO TRAINERS/SIMULATORS, FOOD OR PRIZES THIS YEAR IN ATTEMPTING TO MITIGATE RISK OF COVID-19 INFECTION.  MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED (BUT NOT PROVIDED) IN GATHERING AREAS.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MASK OR FACE COVERING, OR ARE NOT MAINTAINING THE RECOMMENDED 6 FEET, YOU MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE.  FCRCC RESPECTS THE HEALTH OF OUR MEMBERS AND GUESTS.

WE WILL HAVE THE FUN FLY THIS YEAR!

Though nothing will return to "NORMAL", we have a great opportunity to fly together on Father's Day!   Be sure to BYOF (food), BYOD (non-alcoholic drinks), (especially if it is one of the 80-90 degree days we have already been enjoying) and enjoy an afternoon of fun flying or visiting with us.  Social Distancing is a must (6ft or more) and in the gathering areas we will require the use of masks while socializing.  Please see the CDC guidelines and visit mass.gov for State Issued Guidelines.  If you are under you own canopy alone or with a household member, or on the flight line, masks may be taken off for comfort, and to alleviate distraction where focus is required.  We have not advertised this event to the public as we usually do (through the newspaper, flyers at businesses and other mainstream media means) with the possibility of having to cancel, so we are expecting more AMA flyers than spectators to keep the numbers down (lower the risk). Our goal is to have a great afternoon flying with our fellow AMA modelers and get to fly our winter projects together!

PLEASE NOTE: - If you are at a higher risk for COVID and are not comfortable with attending, we fully understand and respect your decision. We hope to see you for our 2021 FDFF.  Be advised, if you are at higher risk and do attend, there is a possibility for additional spectators to arrive.  FCRCC respects everyone's space and personal health decisions, but FCRCC is not liable for policing the social distancing guidelines.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND FLYING!

OUR CLUB IS A 7 DAY A WEEK CLUB IF YOU ARE A MEMBER. This means that if you are a paying member, you can fly at our club every day of the week.

Typically, we are open to the public on Tuesday Evenings starting at roughly 5-5:30pm and on Sundays from 11am to 3pm (longer if it's nice!). This is of course weather dependent. Again, Members are allowed to fly anytime. However, no one is allowed to fly during Franklin County Technical High School's Football Games or other sporting events at the fields adjacent to ours. Their schedule is posted at the top and over to the left under "FCTC Schedule". Also, as a courtesy, especially if you are going to fly alone in the mornings or early afternoon hours, please check to make sure that the fields at Franklin Tech are not being occupied by a large group and be mindful of noise while school is in session. Otherwise, we really don't have any noise restrictions.

WE HAVE TRAINERS AND BUDDY BOX SYSTEMS set up so that if you want to try flying, you can do so with one of our trained members.

We encourage the public to come and check out our planes and the hobby! If you fly but are not a club member please feel free to come down to visit and you can fly as a guest during our open to public hours listed above.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. There ARE bathroom facilities at our location.
  2. If you are not a Member, PLEASE do not go to our field outside of the hours listed above. Since it is TF Airport Property, the Airport Manager may ask you to leave and has the right to remove you from the property without proper ID. We can have guests during our open flying hours or if you go outside of those hours with a Properly Badged Member.
  3. FOR ALL MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS: In order to keep our privilege to fly at the Turners Falls Airport, we must use common sense. SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY! Please do not fly during Sporting Events where the fields are occupied by groups of people. If any complaints (noise, etc...) are received for flying while the Tech School is in session, we will address the problem promptly. We know that some members enjoy flying in the morning when the wind is calm during ideal conditions and members are entitled to do so with common sense and safety as top priorities. Please do your part to help keep the club alive, use your noggin!
  4. If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns, please go to the "Contact Us" page from the tab at the top.
